One great benefit of babywearing is that the caregiver is able to get around easily without the inconvenience of a bulky stroller! But, what do you do with all of your stuff and baby’s stuff? There are a variety of different options for carrying your belongings while also wearing your baby.
Sometimes we wear our babies for quick errands to one or two places. For these trips, 1-2 diapers, a changing pad, and wipes, plus wallet, phone, keys and 1-2 other items are the only essentials you may need to carry. However, if you are planning to spend the whole day out with your baby you might want a larger bag that can fit many items. For those that have a car available, some people like to leave a large bag in the car and just carry a small bag.
Soft Structured Carrier (SSC) on front with backpack purse on back
Backpacks make great bags for quick trips and also longer day trips when you are carrying your baby on the front of your body! Some people will also wear a backpack on the front of their body while wearing baby on the back. You could even sling the backpack over one shoulder while carrying baby on your hip for a short time. There are many backpack diaper bags available as well as backpack style purses. You may even already have one in the back of your closet!
